There are worse places to get lost!

Ronan & Storm Keating do the Margaret River region

Back at work after the Easter break? Already dreaming about your next road trip? Same! So let’s take five minutes to live vicariously through Ronan Keating and his beautiful wife Storm, who have been out exploring Western Australia’s Margaret River region. Sampling premium organic wine out of the back of a ute, relaxing on deserted beaches and getting a little bit lost along the way have all been part of the adventure!

Hitting the road

Pilot & co-pilot” – @StormyKeating

The couple arrived on Easter Sunday, with Ronan taking the driving seat while Storm sipped on a green smoothie. Storm grew up in Far North Queensland and nowadays is a television producer & director, designer and model. Healthy eating is obviously helping to provide the energy Storm needs to wear these many hats and she seems to be loving the region’s fantastic fresh produce, which has impressed the likes of Marco Pierre White at the annual Gourmet Escape event held each November.

The ‘pilot’ did admit to being lost for a brief moment! It’s rarely a big deal around here though; the region is just 110km from end to end and if you take a wrong turn you’ll never be far away from a pristine beach, rare forest or world class winery. As Ronan said himself, “There are worse places to get lost”! Ronan, we hope you don’t mind us telling you how adorable you look when you’re lost :).

Spa Heaven

The Keatings arrived just in time to enjoy sunset over the Indian Ocean at the luxury Injidup Spa Retreat. One of the best kept secrets in Western Australia, Injidup Spa Retreat is all about tranquility and seclusion. There are just 10 luxury villas on site, each complete with a private plunge pool and breathtaking ocean views.

The region provides a spectacular setting for Ronan to practise his camera skills. The natural beauty of the area takes in rivers, two rare forests, ancient caves, the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park and the Cape to Cape Track, rated one of the ‘Top Ten multi-day walks in Australia’ by Australian Geographic.

Easter perfection

“Pure Bliss 🙌” – @stormykeating

It didn’t take long before the couple were well and truly relaxing, ‘Margies’ style, settling down with a book and a glass of wine to let Easter Sunday pass by in perfect peace and quiet.

Beach bliss

Then it was time for fresh air and gorgeous autumn sunshine at the beach. No matter what the time of year, there’s always a peaceful, secluded beach to be found in the Margaret River region. Surrounded by three sides of water, you can take your pick between sheltered coves and long shallow beaches with fine white sand. The coastline is also famous for its surf and is about to host the world’s best surfers at the Drug Aware Pro next week. Find more amazing beaches here.

Wine times

Ever done wine tasting out of the back of a ute? Well that’s how we roll in the Margaret River region! Ronan and Storm were treated to an incredible wine tasting in the middle of Cloudburst Wine’s biodynamic vineyard. Now we’re pretty confident about the quality of the region’s wine – around 20% of Australia’s premium wine is produced here – but we did have to cross our fingers in the hope that Storm would be impressed. The verdict?“Never experienced anything like it #wow #unique #worldclass #wine” – OK, so that sounds like a thumbs up!

Thank you to Storm Keating for letting us share her beautiful holiday snaps. Follow the Keatings’ adventures via @rokeating/@stormykeating on Instagram.
