Summer wouldn’t be summer without being able to lie back under the stars to watch a movie with a glass of Margaret River wine. It seems that we can’t get enough of the outdoor movie scene in Your Margaret River Region – what began as the territory of flagship winery Cape Mentelle in Margaret River has now spread across the region, with screenings taking place in Busselton, Dunsborough and Yallingup.

Courtyard Cinema, ArtGeo, Busselton
Brand new for 2015 is this movie series taking place in the unique outdoor space of the ArtGeo Cultural Complex courtyard on Queen Street, Busselton. Enjoy a picnic with family and friends, a glass of wine from the bar, and some live chilled-out tunes whilst the sun sets, then sit back and watch a family favourite on the big outdoor screen.
Dates: 4th, 5th, 11th, 18th and 19th December, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 22nd and 29th January
Prices: Kids $7, Adults $10, Family (2 adults and 2 children) $30

Happs Wines, Dunsborough
Cosy up in the gardens of one of the region’s most picturesque wineries. A favourite with the locals, these movie sessions have an informal and friendly atmosphere, and you can expect to be greeted warmly by the Happs Wines team.

Caves House Hotel, Yallingup
Sit on the lawn in the grounds of this historic, heritage listed hotel. The bistro, bar and pizza shack provide a range of options for eating and drinking. The organisers are usually quite relaxed around which BYO seating you bring, as long as guests with taller chairs sit towards the back of the lawn.

Cape Mentelle, Margaret River
The Cape Mentelle movie season runs from December to April and screenings run almost daily during that time. The programme is extremely varied and covers the latest film releases, art-house films, old classics and family favourites. There’s a slick kitchen setup, a coffee van, live music as the sun goes down, and, importantly, extremely comfortable beanbags for hire! Tickets are available to purchase via Cape Mentelle and your local visitor centre.
Dates: mid-December to early April. Normally daily screenings
Prices: Concession/children $13.00, Adults $18.00, Bean bed hire $9.00, Book of Ten season tickets available: $130.00
